Hollstadt Consulting in Maplewood, MN seeks a hands-on Senior Accountant to own broad general and technical accounting tasks, including lease accounting under ASC 842, fixed assets, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of experience, strong accounting fundamentals, and a willingness to contribute to ERP implementation and process improvements. This role offers hybrid work with three onsite days per week in Maplewood.

Qualifications

5–8 years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience at Senior Accountant level.
Strong understanding of debits/credits, journal entries, GL activity, accruals, and reconciliations.
Experience with journal entries and month-end close.
Independently prepare reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting or strong foundation to learn ASC 842.
Experience with fixed-asset accounting (additions, disposals, depreciation).
Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition.
Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP).
Ability to explain accounting rationale behind entries.
Clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and post recurring and nonrecurring journal entries.
Support month-end and year-end close activities.
Prepare and maintain balance sheet and GL account reconciliations.
Research discrepancies, resolve reconciling items, and ensure balances are accurate.
Apply debits, credits, and GL knowledge to various transactions.
Assist with evolving accounting needs as the organization grows.
Research technical accounting questions and collaborate with auditors.
