The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles in Tallahassee is seeking an Accountant IV to audit payroll, validate postings, and ensure accurate compensation for state employees. This role reports to the accounting bureau and collaborates with payroll teams to maintain compliance with Florida policies.

Candidates must be capable of working independently and in a team, with strong attention to detail and experience in payroll accounting systems like FLAIR and People First.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of State of Florida payroll and accounting policies and procedures.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work assignments.
• Skill in auditing, reviewing, reconciling data for compliance.

Responsabilités

• Audit payroll to prepare monthly and supplemental payrolls and ensure accurate payments.
• Audit records in the FLAIR system after payroll posts to verify accuracy.
• Validate Personnel Action Requests (PARs) from the Bureau of Personnel and collect overpayments from LOA/LWOP.
• Explain discrepancies to HSMV members and coordinate with other accountants.
