Company Overview:

A leading financial services company with a strong presence in the investment sector is seeking a Senior Accountant for their Investment Accounting team. This role will be based in their future headquarters in Short Hills, NJ, with interim work available in Branchville, NJ.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepares and reviews monthly account analysis and reconciliation
• Establishes, interprets, and analyzes complex accounting records of financial statements
• Creates journal entries and adjustments
• Assists with preparation of both GAAP and SAP investment disclosures
• Prepares analytical review of financial statements during closing process
• Handles field questions concerning financial results
• Performs monthly financial close and financial statement preparation
• Applies accurate accounting treatment for fixed income, equities, mortgage loans, cash equivalents, and alternative investments
• Assists and provides support with annual external audit and budget processes
• Ensures integrity of financial statements and compliance with GAAP, company policies, and governmental requirements

Qualifications:

• Prior exposure to accounting systems with knowledge of GAAP and SAP
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, particularly Excel
• Experience with investment accounting software solutions (Clearwater) and custodian (J.P. Morgan) platforms preferred
• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Five or more years of financial accounting experience
• CPA designation preferred

Compensation:

Pay Rate: $40 - $70/hr
