Job summary

Troon’s Corporate office in Scottsdale, AZ, is seeking an Accountant III to oversee full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of facilities and functions across the Troon enterprise. You will ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, accurate monthly close, and timely delivery of financial information.

The role partners with General Managers, Operations, and Corporate teams to provide insights, drive efficiencies, and support strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Ability to manage complex reconciliations and financial reporting with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of large, complex facilities and/or functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules in compliance with GAAP and company standards.
• Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts - including deferred revenues, membership liabilities, and special accruals - and resolve variances.
• Review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by junior staff for accuracy.
• Partner with General Managers, Operations and Corporate teams to provide financial insights and responsive support.
• Lead process improvement initiatives and assist with special projects, including onboarding new properties, entities or functions.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to entry level accounting staff.
• Present financial results and analyses in client-facing meetings, conveying complex information clearly.
