Job summary

Lima One Capital is seeking a Senior Accountant I to own key close processes, generate accurate financial reports, and support SOX compliance in a fast-paced real estate lending environment.

You will work with Campfire ERP, leverage AI tools for efficiency, and collaborate with AP on accruals while guiding junior staff and driving process improvements across the Accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Campfire; familiarity with Snowflake/Tableau/AI tools is a plus.
• Experience in high-volume mortgage lending environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close tasks.
• Process transactions and maintain the GL using Campfire ERP.
• Prepare internal and external financial reports with data accuracy.
• Leverage AI tools to draft reports and automate tasks.
• Record loan funding and product sales transactions.
• Review daily bank for loan funding and sale activity.
• Reconcile monthly bank and loan balances.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable on vendor accruals and cutoff testing.
• Support auditors and tax preparers for year-end filings.
• Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• Review junior staff processes and provide feedback.
• Contribute to process improvements across Accounting.

Lima One Capital is one of the nation\'s premier lenders to residential real estate investors, and our Accounting team sits at the center of that growth. We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant I to own key pieces of our monthly close, financial reporting, and reconciliation work in a fast-paced, high-volume real estate lending environment.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time


• Utilize Campfire ERP to process transactions, maintain the general ledger, and execute close activities


• Prepare internal and external financial reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness of data


• Leverage AI tools including Claude and Shortcut to draft reports, analyze data, and automate repetitive tasks, freeing capacity for higher-value analysis


• Properly record business transactions for loan funding and the sale of all products


• Review bank accounts daily for loan funding and sale transactions


• Reconcile monthly bank and loan account balances


• Maintain supporting schedules and balance sheet account reconciliations


• Partner with Accounts Payable on vendor accruals and cutoff testing


• Provide information to auditors and tax preparers for year-end reports and filings


• Maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements


• Review Staff Accountant processes and journal entries, providing coaching and feedback


• Contribute to process improvement and automation initiatives across the Accounting team

Requirements

• Bachelor\'s degree in accounting


• 5+ years of experience in accounting


• Moderate to advance level of Excel knowledge


• Experience at a high-volume mortgage loan originator or servicer is preferred but not required


• Experience with accounting ERP systems and familiarity with Campfire, Snowflake, Tableau, or AI-assisted tools (Claude, Shortcut) a strong plus


• Ability to work in a challenging and rewarding environment that provides great avenues for personal development


• Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict close deadlines; experience working in a SOX-compliant environment preferred


• Possess a mindset for perpetual process improvement and efficiency
