Job summary

Sungrow is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team in Costa Mesa, CA. The role focuses on contract-based accounting, revenue recognition under ASC 606, reconciliations, and billing support within a hybrid work setup.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and SAP proficiency. Collaboration with project management, operations, and auditors will be key to maintaining financial integrity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing or contract/project environments.
Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and reconciliations.
Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel.
Ability to communicate across departments and with auditors.

Responsibilities

Perform project reconciliations to validate billing accuracy, revenue reporting, and compliance with customer purchase orders.
Review customer contracts and purchase orders to identify performance obligations, evaluate billing milestones, and ensure appropriate revenue recognition under ASC 606.
Review cash applications to ensure payments are accurately posted to the correct customers and invoices.
Collaborate with Project Management, Operations, and Finance to monitor project financial performance, resolve billing matters, and support collections.
Assist with month-end close by ensuring invoicing, revenue, and general ledger transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
Support audits by preparing requested schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
Assist with special projects, financial analyses, and other accounting responsibilities as needed.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join Sungrow's finance team. This role will focus on managing financial accuracy, supporting billing functions, reconciliations, and contract compliance within our growing business unit team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in contract-based accounting, reconciliation, revenue recognition under ASC 606, and customer invoicing. This position plays a key role in ensuring alignment between accounting, project management, and commercial teams, while maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and compliance.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, energy, or contract/project-based accounting.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience applying ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
Experience preparing account reconciliations, analyzing variances, and resolving discrepancies.
Proficiency in SAP or other ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and reconciliations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to present financial data to management.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments and with external auditors.
