Job summary

Business Management Company, Inc. (BMC) seeks a Senior Accountant to own client relationships, ensuring books, tax returns and filings are accurate and timely. You will explain financial health to owners and collaborate with an Accounting Manager on quarterly projections and annual planning.

Hybrid or local candidates are preferred in Frederick, MD, with fully remote considered and travel for training and team gatherings paid by the company.

Qualifications

• Public accounting background with 3+ years preparing and reviewing business and individual returns.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to discuss numbers with business owners.
• Support and pursue continuing education and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead ongoing relationship for a portfolio of business clients and present results per client preference.
• Prepare or review business and individual tax returns, financial statements, and quarterly tax projections.
• Oversee compliance across clients, including sales/use, personal property, 1099s and payroll filings in all nexus states.
• Review work prepared by Staff Accountants and Bookkeepers and provide growth feedback.
• Onboard new clients from first meeting through first books and roadmap.
• Collaborate with Accounting Managers on tax planning and advisory opportunities.
