Job summary

Thea Pharma Inc. in the United States is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the U.S. Finance team in Waltham, MA.

This hybrid role combines 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, working closely with the Assistant Controller and FP&A to support accounting, payroll, budgeting and forecasting, and the general ledger. Responsibilities include payroll accounting, month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and internal controls under US GAAP and SOX, with collaboration across teams and ad hoc

Qualifications

• Master of Science in Accountancy or equivalent.
• Pursuing CPA and/or MBA desirable.
• 5+ years of total accounting or finance experience across industries.
• Regulatory, Compliance, and Audited ERP system experience.
• Startup dynamic and fast-paced environment experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage payroll accounting, including payroll journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Support monthly close process, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate with Accounting and FP&A for accurate financial reporting and budgeting.
• Assist with accounts payable and general ledger transactions per US GAAP.
• Support SOX controls and external audits; ensure internal controls.
