Job summary

Liberty Utilities, a division of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp., is looking for an Accountant III to deliver accurate month-end close, financial reporting, and regulatory support. You’ll work with operations, regulatory, and FP&A teams to ensure GAAP compliance and efficient accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or equivalent required.
• Experience with SAP systems preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries on closing schedules.
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and schedules.
• Investigate variances and unusual account activity.
• Support financial statement prep and disclosures.
• Coordinate responses to internal and external audits.
