Job summary

Connecticut Innovations is seeking a seasoned accounting professional to lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes in a hybrid Norwalk, CT setting. You will record journal entries, reconcile complex accounts, and ensure US GAAP-compliant reporting.

The role requires an accounting or finance degree, 5+ years of relevant experience, and CPA consideration; strong Excel and communication skills are essential. Competitive base salary with bonus eligibility and benefits.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA certification (active or in progress) and public accounting experience preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and account reconciliations.
• Experience with accruals, prepaids, inventory accounting, cost accounting, tax accounting, or legal entity accounting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly/quarterly/annual financial close process.
• Prepare and record journal entries with complete supporting documentation.
• Prepare and analyze complex account reconciliations and analyses monthly.
• Ensure financial reporting complies with US GAAP.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and budgeting data.
• Support external auditors and drive process improvements to reduce waste and raise quality.
