Job summary

Zip Security in Washington DC is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the financial foundation for growth. You will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, AP/AR, billing, payroll, and month/quarterly close, while partnering with the fractional CFO on reporting and controls.

You will help establish scalable processes, enhance internal controls, support tax and audit activities, and collaborate with Sales Operations and leadership on financial initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong accounting foundation with experience owning or contributing to monthly close, general ledger, AP/AR, billing, and financial reporting.
• Experience working across multiple areas of accounting.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Ability to translate accounting for non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own core accounting operations across the general ledger, AP/AR, billing, collections, payroll, and close.
• Maintain accurate and timely financial reporting with the CFO.
• Own revenue accounting and billing operations, including invoicing.
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales Ops on commissions and cost analysis.
• Manage key finance systems (Ramp, Rippling, Carta) and processes.
• Strengthen internal controls and scalable accounting practices.
• Support tax, audit, and compliance activities.
• Support treasury and board reporting.
