Senior Accountant | Series A Cyber Security SaaS | NYC

$120,000 + Bonus + Equity | New York, NY | Hybrid - 3 Days Per Week

A high-growth technology business is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance function.

Founded just a few years ago, the company has scaled rapidly to approximately 90 employees and $45m in ARR, while maintaining a lean finance team. The business is now entering an exciting stage of growth and is investing heavily in its finance infrastructure, systems and processes.

The company is currently undergoing a major finance systems transformation, moving from QuickBooks to a modern ERP platform, and is looking for someone who can help build the processes and infrastructure required to support the next stage of growth.

This is a role where mindset is more important than technical accounting depth. The ideal candidate will be naturally curious, highly detail-oriented and someone who enjoys looking at an existing process and asking, \"How can we do this better?\"

You’ll work closely with the Controller and wider finance team across month-end, AP, AR, cost analysis and systems implementation, while helping the business work towards a 3-day month-end close.

The role is hybrid, with three days per week in the New York office.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day month-end close, working closely with the Controller and wider finance team.
• Help drive the business towards a 3-day month-end close by identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements.
• Oversee AP and AR, ensuring processes remain accurate, efficient and scalable.
• Analyse actual costs versus budget/forecast, identifying variances and providing meaningful analysis.
• Build and improve scalable accounting processes and workflows as the business continues to grow.
• Support the ongoing implementation of a new ERP/accounting system, ensuring it is effectively embedded across the finance function.
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes, reducing unnecessary manual work.
• Establish and document new processes and controls across the accounting function.
• Work closely with the CFO, Controller and FP&A team across accounting and finance projects.
• Use AI and automation tools to improve the efficiency and scalability of the finance function.
• Bring a continuous improvement mindset and consistently look for opportunities to improve how the finance team operates.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 2-5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a high-growth technology or SaaS environment.
• Naturally curious and proactive, with a genuine interest in improving processes.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of ownership.
• Experience supporting month-end close, AP, AR and financial analysis.
• Comfortable working in an environment where processes are still being built and improved.
• Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills.
• Comfortable using AI and modern finance technology and interested in applying technology to accounting processes.
• SaaS experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Candidates coming directly from audit will be considered if they can demonstrate the right mindset and an ability to think beyond established processes.
• CPA is not required.
• Public accounting experience is not required.
