Commonwealth of VA Careers, working with the Virginia Department of Health, seeks a Senior Accountant to support financial and grants functions at the Central Office in Richmond. You will manage journal submissions, monthly reconciliations, and Budget-to-Actual tracking, while ensuring compliance with state accounting rules and policies.

This role requires solid accounting knowledge, AR/AP experience, financial reporting, and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of accounting, financial, and budgetary principles including AR/AP and reconciliations.
• Experience using data tracking and reporting systems to manage financial records and analyze trends.
• Strong written and verbal communication to guide staff and report findings.

Responsabilités

• Assist financial and grants teams with accounting tasks such as journal submissions, monthly reconciliations, and Budget to Actual tracker preparation.
• Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities and financial analysis.
• Ensure adherence to state accounting processes, procedures, and policies.
• Provide financial guidance to the administrative team as needed.
