Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, Florida seeks a Senior Accountant to support accounting operations, payroll and grant accounting, month-end closing, financial reporting, and dashboard development.

The role is part of the Finance Team, reports to the Director of Finance, and does not supervise staff; hybrid work schedule is offered. Qualified candidates will have nonprofit accounting experience and strong Excel/Power BI skills.

Qualifications

• At least three years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including reconciliations and journal entries.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
• Nonprofit experience and grant accounting experience preferred.
• Ability to interpret grant agreements, budgets, and reporting requirements.
• Strong Excel skills with lookups, pivots, and data analysis.
• Experience building Power BI or similar dashboards and reporting tools.

Responsabilités

• Maintain accurate accounting records by coding, reconciling, and recording transactions by department and funding source.
• Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Perform payroll and benefits accounting, including allocations and accruals.
• Track grant and restricted-fund accounting, reimbursements, and revenue recognition.
• Prepare audit-ready schedules and financial documentation for donations and grants.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI and Excel.
• Reconciling dashboards and reports to NetSuite and other source systems, addressing data-quality issues.
• Maintain procedures, close checklists, and documentation; seek process improvements.
• Provide cross-training and backup support across Finance priorities as needed.
