Job summary

Central Arizona Shelter Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Accountant to lead the agency's accounting processes, including payables, budgeting, general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statements. You will support audit prep for the agency and its affiliates.

The role also provides back-up for grant and contract billing, as well as accounts receivable; you will prepare work papers and analyses as needed. A BS in accounting and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in accounting or equivalent; strong communication skills; proficient with MS Office; highly analytical and organized; team oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of accounting activities for the Agency and affiliates, including accounts payable, budgeting, GL entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and allocations; research variances; assist in budgets; contribute to audit preparation.
• Serve as back-up for grant and contract billing and accounts receivable; prepare work papers and analyses as needed.
