Job summary

Eva Garland Consulting, LLC in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This on-site, full-time role reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and supervises Staff Accountants, delivering high-quality accounting and grant compliance services.

The successful candidate will manage engagements for 200+ early-stage companies, apply US GAAP and grant accounting standards, review entries, prepare schedules, ensure internal controls, and provide monthly reports.

Qualifications

• CPA (preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting
• Experience in a client-facing accounting role

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of Accounting and Compliance engagements.
• Provide expertise in GAAP accounting and grant accounting standards.
• Provide full-service accounting support for small and medium-sized businesses.
• Review journal entries and financial reports prepared by Staff Accountants.
• Prepare depreciation schedules, accrued revenue, journal entries, and other schedules.
• Ensure client’s internal controls are implemented correctly and operating as intended.
• Provide monthly financial reports and analysis to clients.
• Support Clients’ government grant accounting reporting needs.
• Lead new clients through the process of establishing a grant accounting compliant chart of accounts and an internal control framework in compliance with federal granting agency regulations.
• Guide clients through the process to draw funds from awarding agencies.
• Guide clients in the preparation of their Accounting Policies & Procedures Manuals.
• Support clients through financial statement and regulatory audits.
• Contribute to the development of internal EGC policies and procedures.
• Contribute to educational resources and professional development opportunities to facilitate continual professional growth within the EGC Accounting team.
