Job summary

DDN is seeking a Senior Accountant in New York (Hybrid) to join Corporate Accounting and support close, process improvements, and finance transformation initiatives. You will help transition from Oracle to Workday, test workflows, and ensure accounting readiness.

The role collaborates with FP&A, Payroll, Tax, and other teams to improve efficiency, controls, and scalability across global entities. Strong GAAP knowledge and ERP experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple moving parts and competing priorities.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to coordinate across stakeholders.
• Experience developing close calendars, coordinating cross-functional close activities, or driving close acceleration initiatives.
• CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred.
• Experience participating in an ERP implementation or finance transformation strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement review, flux analysis, and other general ledger activities as needed.
• Develop and monitor close calendars across entities and geographies, coordinating activities, dependencies, and deadlines.
• Review existing close processes to identify opportunities for greater consistency, efficiency, and simplification.
• Partner with accounting teams to improve visibility into close status, outstanding activities, dependencies, and bottlenecks.
• Assist with development and monitoring of close metrics, including timeliness and post-close adjustments.
• Develop and maintain accounting process documentation, including close procedures and ownership matrices.
• Collaborate with FP&A, Payroll, Procurement, Tax, Treasury, and other teams where processes intersect with accounting and reporting.
• Coordinate testing in Workday, validate results, and resolve defects during Go-Live readiness.
• Evaluate Oracle processes during the Workday transition and identify simplification/enhancement opportunities.
• Support post-go-live stabilization and opportunities to leverage Workday functionality.
• Contribute to broader accounting process improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
• Promote consistency and standardization across accounting processes while balancing local requirements.
