Job summary

DataDirect Networks is seeking a Senior Accountant in New York with a strong accounting foundation to support global close processes and drive efficiency during the Workday transition. You will work across multiple entities, enhancing controls, documenting procedures, and enabling scalable reporting.

The role emphasizes collaboration with FP&A, Payroll, Tax, and Procurement, plus hands-on testing in Workday and ongoing process improvements to increase consistency and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, GL accounting, and month-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills and comfort with large data sets.
• Experience with Workday Financials.
• Big 4 public accounting and industry experience preferred.
• CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Experience with Oracle ERP or similar systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Develop and monitor the global close calendar across entities.
• Review processes for consistency, efficiency, and simplification.
• Improve visibility into close status and dependencies across geographies.
• Coordinate testing in Workday and validate accounting results.
• Assist with ERP transition from Oracle to Workday and issue resolution.
• Participate in accounting process improvement and finance transformation initiatives.
• Promote standardized accounting processes while balancing local requirements.
