Job summary

American Bankers Association (ABA) seeks a Senior Accountant to oversee complex general ledger reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial reporting. You will liaise with external auditors on audits and tax engagements for ABA and affiliates.

Responsibilities include tax filings for federal/state forms, quarterly UBIT, and annual financial statements for various ABA entities. Collaboration with senior management is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 6-8 years of experience in accounting; 2+ years in public accounting preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting required.
• Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
• Workday and Adaptive experience preferred; strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax filings for Federal Form 990, 990T, 1065 and 1120 and state forms.
• Prepare forms for excise tax and political expenditure filings.
• Schedule yearly meetings with tax counsel to understand changes.
• Prepare quarterly UBIT filings for ABA and subsidiaries (non-profit).
• Prepare estimated tax payments for ABA Card Solutions and fTLD, including foreign withholding.
• Prepare annual financial statements for ABA Retiree Medical Plans and monthly/annual statements for ABA Card.
• Prepare supporting schedules for BankPac audits and other audits.
• Review monthly transactions in assigned accounts and enter journal entries.
