American Arbitration Association Inc. in New York, NY, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to maintain the General Ledger, prepare journal entries, and support monthly closings and audits.

The role reports to the accounting leadership and collaborates with cross-functional teams. The position is hybrid from our downtown Manhattan headquarters with a salary range of $99,500–$105,500 and quarterly incentives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 4-6 years progressive accounting experience.
• Knowledge of FASB ASC 350/360 and ASC 842 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains General Ledger, including preparation and review of journal entries to ensure accuracy and adequate support.
• Ensures the accuracy and adherence to internal controls and accounting policies.
• Prepares monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports, journals, and account reconciliations.
• Assists with monthly and year-end financial closing, and prepares internal and external reporting.
• Manages balance sheet and income statement analyses and reconciliations to the general ledger.
• Supports audits by coordinating with internal and external auditors.
