The American Bankers Association seeks an Accountant, Accounts Receivable, to maintain AR records in an automated system, applying payments and handling chargebacks. This role requires strong attention to detail, GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Nimble AMS/Workday in a fast-paced environment.

You will reconcile GL accounts, manage VEBA-related financials, and collaborate with HR for reporting. Excellent customer service and accuracy are essential, with a DC-based, on-site work setting.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• 3-5 years of related experience; General Ledger experience; Experience with high-volume transaction processing; Experience with reconciling general ledger accounts.
• Ability to work with various accounting systems
• Understanding GAAP principles and financial reporting
• Exceptional attention to detail required
• Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities while maintaining an organized workload and meeting deadlines
• Ability to work well within teams as well as independently
• Experience with Financial Management Systems required, experience with Workday and AMS/Nimble AMS preferred; Nimble AMS strongly preferred
• Ability to adapt to various accounting/banking applications
• Word, Excel and similar desktop software experience
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, both verbally and in writing; strong communication skills required
• Adaptable to change
• Strong sense of accountability and integrity

Responsabilidades

• Apply payments received in membership/accounts receivable/lockboxes in Nimble AMS.
• Apply ACH and wire payments in Nimble AMS.
• Apply credit card payments submitted outside Nimble AMS.
• Deposit checks.
• Maintain Unapplied Receivable log.
• Resolve unapplied receipts with business units.
• Verify Check/Lockbox log.
• Review and process Credit Card Merchant chargebacks.
• Upload invoices into customer-specific payment platforms.
• Perform daily exports of Nimble batches and import into Workday for posting.
• Record monthly credit card fees to the general ledger via journal entry.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts for accuracy.
• Process adjustments against customers' accounts in Nimble.
• Oversee VEBA plan financial operations including reconciliations and audit schedules.
• Prepare journals including recurring/adjusting entries and reclassifications.
• Maintain accrual tracking schedule for year-end close.
• Address Accounts Receivable inquiries via ABAReceivable inbox.
