The Inland Real Estate Group of Companies, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. You will prepare accurate financial statements, support the month-end close, analyze variances, and ensure GAAP compliance across corporate and property accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year college.
• 3 to 5 years of professional accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Analyze financial results, research variances, and provide insights to management.
• Review general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness.
• Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts monthly.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and improve reporting processes.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documents to auditors.
• Develop and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support special projects and process improvements.
• Provide guidance and coordinate workflow within the accounting team.
• Assist with corporate and property accounting responsibilities as needed.
