Job summary

The Inland Real Estate Group, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join our growing Accounting team. You will lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, prepare consolidated GAAP financial statements for a multi-entity structure, and support cross-functional collaboration in a real estate/investment environment.

This role offers exposure to corporate-level reporting, audit processes, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in financial statement preparation, consolidations, and audit support.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for corporate and underlying entities.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, reporting packages, dashboards, and analytics.
• Review general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and proper accounting treatment.
• Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Support the annual audit process, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Maintain audit readiness and support control environments.
• Analyze financial results and provide budget-to-actual variance analysis.
• Assist with annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting.
• Prepare quarterly cash flow reporting and tax-related calculations.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Support the development and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Strengthen internal controls and reporting processes.
• Partner with Finance, Asset Management, and other internal teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Support consolidation across multiple entities and ownership structures.
• Contribute to special projects and ad hoc initiatives.

What You'll Do

Financial Reporting & Close

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for corporate and underlying entities
• Prepare consolidated financial statements, reporting packages, dashboards, and analytics
• Review general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and proper accounting treatment

Audit & Compliance

What You Bring

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or equivalent experience)
• 3-7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience with financial statement preparation, consolidations, and audit support
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP

Preferred

• Experience in real estate, investment management, or private equity environments
• Exposure to partnership accounting or tax preparation
• CPA designation (or in progress)

Skills

• Strong analytical ability with excellent attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills (e.g., complex models, lookups, data analysis)
• Experience with accounting systems (Yardi or similar preferred)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

Annual Base Salary Range: $86,558-$108,197
