Job summary

Inland Private Capital Corporation (IPCC) in Oak Brook, Illinois, is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee the close process for a diverse real estate investment portfolio, including multi-entity structures. You will manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closes and prepare GAAP financial statements along with lender and investor reporting.

The role collaborates with Finance, Asset Management, and other teams to drive accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls, while supporting external audits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
• 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience in real estate, investment, or private equity
• Prior audit and/or tax experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation
• Experience supporting external audits
• Familiarity with lender and investor reporting
• Advanced Excel skills (data analysis, lookups, complex workbooks)
• Experience with Yardi or similar accounting systems preferred
• CPA preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Review property-level financials for accuracy, compliance, and reasonableness
• Analyze financial results and prepare variance analysis

• Review and interpret general ledger activity for completeness and accuracy
• Partner with internal teams to resolve issues and improve processes
• Assist in enhancing accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Mentor and support the development of staff accountants
• Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives

What You’ll Do

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for assigned portfolios

• Support investment-level audits, including audit schedules and responding to auditor requests
• Review property-level financials for accuracy, compliance, and reasonableness
• Analyze financial results and prepare variance analysis, investigating discrepancies
• Maintain portfolio data and records within Yardi
• Review and interpret general ledger activity to ensure completeness and accuracy
• Partner with internal teams (Finance, Asset Management, etc.) to resolve issues and improve processes

What You Bring
