Job summary

Western Union is seeking a Sr. Accountant based in Denver for a hybrid office role. The position focuses on the close process, general ledger accounting, and partnering with corporate functions including U.S. payroll and benefits. Strong US GAAP knowledge and Excel are required, with Oracle experience preferred.

You will collaborate across CFO and Finance teams, support audits, and drive process improvements while contributing to a dynamic financial organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4+ years of financial accounting experience.
• 4+ years of experience accounting for payroll, payroll-related accruals, employee compensation programs, and payroll reconciliations.
• Experience supporting business partners across corporate functions and providing financial analysis and reporting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Microsoft Excel.
• Preferred experience supporting U.S. and Canada payroll processes is preferred.
• Proficiency in Oracle and other financial reporting tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely completion of accounting close process responsibilities.
• Serve as the General Ledger Accounting, Reporting, and Finance Business Partner for Corporate groups.
• Compliance & Risk activities including SOX and audits.
• Support with payroll and benefits accounting in US & Canada.
• Provide financial reporting, analysis, and guidance to management.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and implement process changes.
• Support audits and system implementations.
