Job summary

Symbiotic Services is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to support our client's Accounting and Finance team in Denver, CO. This role emphasizes revenue recognition, financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, budgeting, and strict adherence to GAAP.

The successful candidate will partner with Office Managers and operations staff, report to the Divisional Controller, and contribute to month-end closes, reconciliations, and tax filings while upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting principles.
• High-level analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows.
• Lead the month-end close process for multiple divisions.
• Reconcile all accounts to the General Ledger accurately and timely.
• Maintain supporting documentation and adjust general ledger entries as needed.
• Assist with inventory reconciliations and month-end inventory processes.
• Track and report daily/weekly cash activities and validate Treasury reports.
• Maintain fixed asset records and manage acquisitions/disposals.
• Prepare business personal property tax and sales tax filings across jurisdictions.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Coordinate with HR to record payroll tax journal entries.
• Support accounting for farm operations and collections.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
• Provide audit documentation and support as requested.
• Assist with special projects assigned by management.
