Job summary

Omaha Eppley Airfield (Omaha Airport Authority) is seeking a Senior Accountant to maintain the general ledger, oversee fixed asset accounting, and support month-end close and financial reporting. This exempt, salaried role reports to the Accounting Manager in the Administration Department.

The successful candidate will prepare complex journal entries, assist with audits and budgets, and ensure GAAP compliance while mentoring junior staff and improving internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• CPA certification is not required, but a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in general ledger accounting.
• Experience processing payroll, including union payroll, preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with ERP and payroll systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including complex journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and account analyses.
• Manage fixed asset accounting and related reconciliations.
• Assist with annual audits, budgets, and regulatory reporting.
• Review and oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and related functions.
• Support financial systems implementations and internal control initiatives.
