Job summary

The Accountant III at Bennett Motor Express Management Inc, based in the corporate office in McDonough, GA, will oversee general ledger accounting, multi-entity consolidations, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany transactions in line with U.S. GAAP and company policy.

You will drive month-end close, perform complex reconciliations, prepare financial statements, and support audits, budgets, and internal controls across Bennett's business units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4-6 years of progressive general ledger accounting experience, including month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• Preferred: experience in transportation, trucking, or logistics and multi-entity consolidations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for month-, quarter-, and year-end close.
• Perform complex account reconciliations and research variances.
• Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules; analyze variances against budget.
• Manage intercompany transactions and consolidations across entities.
• Support external auditors during interim and year-end audits.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc analyses; strengthen internal controls.
