Municipal Credit Union in the United States seeks a Senior Accountant to join the Accounting team. You will maintain accurate financial records, prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements, and contribute to regulatory reporting and budgeting initiatives.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will support month-end closes, bank and ledger reconciliations, fixed asset management, and investment accounting, while collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure timely, accurate data.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• MBA or CPA is preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience; at least 3 years in a banking/credit union role.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting for banks.

Aufgaben

• Participate in month-end close, monthly reporting, variance analysis, and quarterly Call Reports.
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts per MCU policies and timelines.
• Review suspense accounts and coordinate with partners to resolve aged items.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation; apply ASC 842 lease accounting.
• Perform accounting for the investment portfolio and ACL (ASC 326).
• Assist with budget/forecast process and analyze income/expense trends.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting implications of new products.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual GAAP financial statements.
• Assist with audits/regulatory examinations and provide documentation.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports and analyses for strategic decisions.
