Advanced Correctional Healthcare in Franklin, TN is seeking an experienced accountant to manage the general ledger and support month-end closing and financial reporting. This in-office, daytime role requires a 4-year accounting degree and at least 4 years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate setting.

You will prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses, contribute to internal controls, and mentor junior staff while helping ensure GAAP compliance and accurate financial

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles required.
• Demonstrated experience with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Strong general ledger, reconciliation, and financial reporting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and financial analysis.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial records.
• Own and execute key components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Analyze balance sheets and income statement accounts and investigate variances.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Ensure accounting transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and other accounting functions as needed.
• Develop and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, reporting, and efficiency.
• Mentor and provide guidance to the staff accountant when appropriate.
• Assist the Accounting Manager with annual report filings.
• Any and all other duties as assigned.
