Job summary

P&C Recruiting and HR is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the Accounting Manager with day-to-day accounting, month-end close, AP, reconciliations and cost reporting for the U.S. portfolio/site accounting function.

The role emphasizes accurate transaction processing, timely close support, and high-quality account analysis, applying U.S. GAAP and IFRS where applicable, and collaborating with operations, procurement and finance stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Approximately 4 years of progressive accounting experience in mining, industrial, project-based or capital-intensive contexts.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP; capable of researching and documenting accounting conclusions.
• Familiarity with IFRS and cross-border/intercompany accounting matters.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations including bank, credit card, prepaid, accrual, fixed asset and intercompany accounts.
• Research and document accounting treatment under U.S. GAAP and IFRS for assigned transactions.
• Review month‑end transactions for proper coding and allocate costs accordingly.
• Support accounts payable review, vendor documentation and invoice exceptions.
• Assist with payroll and cost reporting preparation and site financial statements.
