Job summary

NANA Worley in Anchorage, AK is seeking a Senior Accountant to support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, maintain the general ledger, and ensure compliance with NANA Worley policies and procedures.

This role also supports the annual audit, enhances internal controls, and collaborates with project teams to track cost activity. It has no supervisory responsibilities and offers opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced finance team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from a 4-year college or university.
• Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Strong aptitude for quickly and efficiently grasping new systems and processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and willingness to accept responsibility for projects/processes.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Effective organizational and time management skills; ability to apply common sense.
• High level of integrity and dependability with a sense of urgency and results orientation.
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook; advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint.

Responsibilities

• Record monthly transactions in accordance with GAAP and within department-stated timelines.
• Assist with monthly financial close activities.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy for all deliverables.
• Assist with enhancement of department processes to promote efficiency and ensure internal control compliance.
• Assist with year-end audit including preparation of audit schedules and supporting docs.
• Follow policies and procedures and complete administrative tasks on time.
• Collaborate with project teams and project controls to ensure accurate project initiation.
• Monitor project financial activity ensuring proper cost allocation.
• Other duties pertinent to department’s success; no supervisory responsibilities.
