Job summary

Capital Educators Federal Credit Union in Meridian, Idaho, seeks a Senior Accountant to provide expert accounting support, ensure GAAP compliance, and assist with audits and regulatory processes. The role covers complex general ledger activities, month-end closings, and CECL/ACL governance.

Ideal candidate has 3–5 years of related experience, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent certifications, and strong communication skills with proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or certifications recognized as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (e.g. IT certifications)
• 3–5 years of similar or related accounting experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficient with computers and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Oversees accounting functions and ensures GAAP/compliance with regulations and Credit Union policies
• Performs complex general ledger activities: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, payables/receivables
• Manages monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and addresses variances
• Prepares schedules and analyses for external audits and regulatory examinations
• Resolves complex accounting matters and supports other team members with processes and training
• Supports CECL and ACL processes with data inputs, model review, and governance documentation
