Job summary

Tucson Medical Center (TMC HealthCare) seeks a Senior Accountant to independently manage complex accounting tasks, prepare financial statements, and support audits and budgeting processes. Strong US GAAP knowledge and Excel/ERP proficiency are required to lead initiatives and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities include journal entries, reconciliations, and collaboration on financial reports for governance and administration, with emphasis on budget variance analysis and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience.
• Expert knowledge of US GAAP.
• Strong Excel and ERP knowledge.
• Ability to prepare financial statements.
• Knowledge of Tax/Treasury and AP/Payroll.
• Experience with audit preparation.

Responsibilities

• Apply US GAAP to revenue recognition, audits, budgeting, cost reporting, and financial analysis.
• Book high-complexity journal entries.
• Build and manage advanced spreadsheets using high-level functions.
• Perform transactional accounting tasks (journal entries, reconciliations).
• Independently prepare financial statements and reports.
• Collaborate with others in preparation, analysis, and presentation of financial reports to governing board.
• Review actual performance against budget and explain deviations.
• Adhere to TMCH values and safety and confidentiality policies.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
