Job summary

Tucson Unified School District is seeking a professional accountant to support financial accounting and reporting under the Senior Accounting Manager. You will perform daily analyses, reconciliations, and reporting while ensuring compliance with GASB and district policies.

The role requires a CPA or CGFM and government accounting experience is preferred; strong communication and ERP experience are essential. Location is the district office in Tucson.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field required; two years in public/government accounting or six years in accounting.
• One year of supervisory experience and one year of customer service experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and GASB and governmental auditing standards.
• Experience with governmental ERP systems (Oracle, Tyler, SAP, Infinite Visions) preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to read and follow written, graphic, and oral instructions.
• Proficient with word-processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional accounting functions supporting financial accounting and reporting activities.
• Handle day-to-day accounting analysis and reconciliations.
• Prepare reporting and provide technical accounting support to ensure accurate records and compliance.
• Promote sound financial management across the district through accurate reporting and controls.

Education
