Job summary

Wedgewood is seeking a Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, month-end close, and audit activities within a fast-paced real estate group. You’ll work closely with the Corporate Accounting team to ensure GAAP compliance and accurate financial statements across multiple entities.

The role emphasizes process improvements, cross-functional collaboration, and technical accounting projects in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting month-end/year-end close.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
• Experience in a multi-entity, high-volume accounting environment.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems and process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Prepare forecasts of liquidity across financing facilities, considering rates, collateral values, and line utilization.
• Prepare and review journal entries for accurate GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Analyze account balances and financial activity to support reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist with audited GAAP financial statements and annual audits.
• Prepare recurring financial reports and other accounting deliverables.
• Conduct ad hoc analyses and reporting for leadership.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and research.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency.
• Participate in cross-functional projects and other initiatives.
