Job description

Senior Accountant - Future Opportunities

Entyre Care is a modern, high-growth healthcare company focused on transforming care at home. We support family and friend caregivers with the financial and emotional support they need throughout the caregiving journey.

We’re profitable, growing quickly, and building the infrastructure to become a category leader in access to care at home. We move fast, take ownership, and expect everyone on the team to roll up their sleeves and solve problems.

If you’re looking for a traditional accounting role where you own one narrow piece of the process, this probably isn’t it. We’re looking for someone who wants real ownership and the opportunity to help build the accounting function as the company scales.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team and take ownership of key accounting functions across the business.

This is a hands‑on role responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, owning significant portions of the month‑end close, preparing and reviewing reconciliations and journal entries, and helping ensure our financial reporting is accurate and timely.

The right person is an accounting operator who is comfortable digging into the details, investigating discrepancies, and figuring things out without waiting to be told exactly what to do. You should be able to work independently, identify problems, and improve the processes around you.

As Entyre continues to scale, this person will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility and help build the accounting infrastructure needed to support a rapidly growing, multi‑state healthcare business.

We’re building our Finance team as Entyre continues to grow. While we may not have an immediate opening, we’re connecting with strong candidates now for upcoming opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own significant portions of the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close process, ensuring accounts are closed accurately and on time.
  • Prepare, post, and review journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, payroll, revenue, and other recurring and non‑recurring entries.
  • Own and maintain general ledger accounts, including detailed account analysis and research of unusual or unexpected activity.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure reconciling items are resolved timely.
  • Perform bank and cash reconciliations and monitor activity for discrepancies or unusual transactions.
  • Manage and review accounts payable and accounts receivable activity, ensuring transactions are properly recorded and supported.
  • Assist with revenue and expense accounting across multiple entities, states, and business lines as the company continues to grow.
  • Prepare financial schedules, analyses, and reporting packages for management.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and ensure financial information is accurate and complete.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve accounting issues and ensure transactions are properly reflected in the general ledger.
  • Support annual audits and other external reporting requirements by preparing schedules, documentation, and account analyses.
  • Ensure accounting activities are performed in accordance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
  • Help build scalable accounting processes as Entyre grows, including documenting procedures and strengthening controls.
  • Take ownership of accounting issues from identification through resolution rather than simply escalating problems.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong hands‑on experience with general ledger accounting and month‑end close.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing journal entries and performing account and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
  • Experience working with an ERP/accounting system such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with an ability to investigate issues and get to the root cause.
  • Excellent attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet close deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross‑functionally.
  • Startup, high‑growth, or multi‑entity accounting experience is a plus.
  • Public accounting experience is a plus.
Preferred Skills
  • CPA or actively pursuing CPA certification.
  • Experience with multi‑entity or multi‑state accounting.
  • Experience in a high‑growth or healthcare environment.
  • Experience improving accounting processes, controls, or reporting.
  • Experience working with payroll, revenue, or complex accounts receivable transactions.
