Job summary

Moonshot is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to perform full-cycle accounting in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment.

This role owns General Ledger, month-end close, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, customer billing, cash application, reconciliations, and financial reporting in strict adherence to US GAAP, partnering with Operations, Purchasing, Project Management, Sales, and Leadership to ensure accurate, timely reporting and strong internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with General Ledger, AP, AR, and month-end close.
• Manufacturing and distribution accounting experience is a plus.
• Experience with vendor/customer deposits, prepaids, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (ECI M1 preferred) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, reclassifications, prepaid amortization, intercompany transactions, and recurring entries.
• Execute month-end close responsibilities and ensure timely completion of close tasks.
• Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts (cash, A/R, A/P, deposits, prepaids, accrued liabilities).
• Research and resolve reconciling items with audit support.
• Own A/R cycle including billing, invoicing, cash application, collections, and reconciliations.
• Process vendor invoices with three-way matching; prepare weekly payments (ACH, wire, check).
• Reconcile vendor statements and maintain master records; support 1099 reporting.
• Maintain pass-through accounting records; reconcile pass-through billings and liabilities.
• Prepare financial reporting schedules, variance analyses, and audit support.
• Identify opportunities to improve ERP utilization and cross-functional data integrity.
