Responsibilities

• Manage key month-end and year-end close activities.

• Perform balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements, schedules, and management reporting.
• Analyze variances to budget and forecasts.
• Support inventory accounting including adjustments and cycle counts.
• Partner with operations to improve margin and profitability reporting.
• Support audits and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and automation.
• Provide backup support across AP, AR, billing, cash application, and collections.

Job description

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team within the manufacturing and distribution space. This role will play an important part in month‑end close, financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, inventory accounting, and financial analysis while partnering closely with finance and operational teams.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Manage key month‑end and year‑end close activities
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaids, allocations, and other adjustments
• Perform balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
• Prepare financial statements, account schedules, and management reporting
• Analyze variances to budget, forecast, and prior periods
• Support inventory accounting, including adjustments, cycle counts, reserves, product costs, freight, and cost variances
• Partner with operations, sales, purchasing, and finance to improve margin, cost, inventory, and profitability reporting
• Support internal and external audits and maintain audit‑ready documentation
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, reporting, and automation
• Provide backup support across AP, AR, billing, cash application, and collections as needed

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience with hands‑on general ledger and month‑end close responsibilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial statements, reconciliations, accrual accounting, and internal controls
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP/financial reporting systems
• Manufacturing, distribution, inventory, or cost accounting experience is highly preferred
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills
• CPA or CMA certification, or progress toward certification, is a plus but not required
