Job summary

Lutz, a privately held company based in Council Bluffs, IA, is seeking a Senior Accountant to own day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, inventory accounting, and the month-end close. This hands-on role partners with leadership to influence financial decisions and drive process improvements across the organization.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of full-cycle accounting, strong Excel and QuickBooks experience, and CPA or similar designation is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience.
• Strong experience with physical inventory and reconciliations.
• Experience in inventory-driven environments (dealership/transportation/distribution) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
• Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections.
• Support cash flow planning and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with tax reporting requirements.
• Identify process improvements across the accounting function.
