Job summary

Lutz is seeking a Senior Audit Accountant to join our accounting team in Omaha, NE. You will plan and execute audits, reviews, and compilations with a focus on GAAP and regulatory compliance, partnering with clients to deliver high-quality financial reporting.

You will mentor junior staff, build strong client relationships, and stay current with auditing standards while leveraging audit software to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or audit.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required; CPA is preferred or in progress.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and time management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations per standards.
• Perform detailed testing of financial records, transactions, and controls.
• Identify audit findings, risks, and recommendations to improve reporting.
• Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and service.
• Understand client operations and financial processes to tailor audits.
• Collaborate with team members to complete engagements efficiently.
• Mentor junior staff and stay current with auditing standards.

MAKE AN IMPACT

As a Senior Audit Accountant, you will:

• Assist in planning and executing financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations in compliance with applicable standards
• Perform detailed testing of financial records, transactions, and controls to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Identify and document audit findings, risks, and recommendations to enhance financial reporting and internal controls
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and exceptional service
• Work closely with clients to understand their business operations and financial processes
• Collaborate with team members to complete audit engagements efficiently and effectively
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff as needed (Senior-level roles)
• Stay current with accounting and auditing standards, leveraging audit software and tools to enhance audit processes

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ Years of experience in accounting, preferably in public accounting or audit
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required; master's degree a plus
• Has a CPA license or is working toward obtaining a CPA
• Experience with GAAP and auditing standards is highly desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and audit software
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
