Job summary

Ledgent in Florida is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to support inventory, cost accounting, and financial reporting within a manufacturing environment. You will work closely with the Controller to ensure accurate inventory valuation, cost tracking, financial reporting, and overall accounting operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-intensive environment.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing financial processes.
• Experience researching and resolving complex inventory and transaction issues.
• Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and reconciliation functions.
• Strong technical aptitude and experience working with accounting software and reporting tools.
• Experience supporting cycle counts, physical inventory processes, and inventory controls.

Responsibilities

• Analyze inventory transactions, costing variances, and inventory reconciliations.
• Support product costing, inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventories.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies related to inventory, AP, AR, and cash.
• Assist with financial reporting, sales tax filings, 1099 reporting, and other compliance requirements.
• Partner with operations to improve inventory controls, reporting accuracy, and accounting processes.
• Provide cross-functional support across core accounting functions as needed.
