Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting in Illinois to support financial reporting, technical accounting, and consolidations. You will assist in preparing financial statements and ESG reports, research accounting conclusions for complex transactions, and partner with cross-functional teams to ensure GAAP compliance.

Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and at least 1 year of experience in an analytical role in accounting, finance, business management or auditing.
At least 2 years of experience with applicable accounting regulations.
Experience with analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends, or exceptions.
Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel with pivot tables, etc.

Responsibilities

Applies principles of accounting to analyze complex financial information and prepare financial reports.
Adheres to and communicates accounting and auditing policies and procedures.
Analyzes accounts, records, and reports and resolves issues; maintains general ledger accounts.
Performs period-end financial close responsibilities and prepares data for financial statements and regulatory filings.
Researchers complex questions and communicates findings to management.
Prepares complex reports in support of internal and external audits.
