Job summary

Pilot, a growing fintech-oriented back-office provider, seeks a Senior Accountant in San Francisco, CA. The role supports monthly close, financial reporting, equity accounting, and audits, with a path toward an Accounting Manager position.

Ideal candidates have 4–7 years in accounting, strong US GAAP knowledge, and experience with equity, ASC 718, and ERP tools. Hybrid work in SF combines in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA preferred; candidates pursuing CPA considered.
• 4–7 years progressive accounting experience, preferably in a high-growth SaaS company.

Responsibilities

• General Ledger & Month-End Close: prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and meet close deadlines.
• Equity Accounting: manage stock options, ASC 718, and equity records with Carta cooperation.
• Audit & Compliance: coordinate external audits and prepare schedules and footnotes.
• Process Improvement & Systems: automate manual processes and optimize close workflows.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: collaborate with Revenue, Payroll, AP/AR, FP&A, HR, Legal, IT.
• Mentor staff and assist with onboarding as team grows.
