Job summary

Pilot is seeking a Senior Accountant in San Francisco to join the growing accounting team. This role reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and spans monthly close, financial reporting, equity accounting, and audit support.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical accounting foundation, a passion for automation, and a drive to scale processes toward an Accounting Manager track within a few years.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a high-growth tech SaaS
• CPA preferred; candidates pursuing CPA considered
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and external audits

Responsibilities

• Close monthly books, prepare journal entries, accruals, and reclasses
• Own balance sheet accounts and reconciliations
• Manage equity roll-forward and ASC 718 stock-based compensation
• Coordinate annual audit and SOX readiness initiatives
• Assist ERP implementations, enhancements, and system optimizations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Revenue, Payroll, AR/AP, FP&A)
