Job summary

Navan is seeking a Senior Accountant in Financial Reporting in Palo Alto, CA. You will own equity accounting, assist in financial statement reviews and audits, and help scale the end-to-end equity administration process as we expand globally.

Key duties include preparing SEC filings and XBRL tagging, producing cash flow statements and footnotes, and processing stock-based compensation entries under US GAAP. You will liaise with external auditors and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Workiva, Wdesk, and NetSuite preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and execution of SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, and related XBRL tagging.
• Prepare the financial statements, including cash flow statement, and footnote disclosures with SOX controls.
• Prepare stock-based compensation journal entries and reconciliations for month-end/quarter-end per US GAAP (ASC 718).
• Maintain supporting documents for internal/external SOX audits and respond to data requests.
• Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly and annual reviews and audits.
• Suggest and implement process improvements to streamline workflows.
• Establish effective cross-functional communication with partners.
• Support technical accounting research, special projects, and ad-hoc requests.
