Job summary

Forge Search partners with a well-established company in Georgetown County, South Carolina, to hire a Senior Accountant. The role oversees the general ledger, financial reporting, and internal controls, and leads audits.

This role will play a key part in financial reporting, process improvements, and providing guidance to the accounting team while working closely with internal and external stakeholders. This is a hybrid role in Georgetown County, South Carolina.

Qualifications

• CPA certification required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including audit.
• Experience with ERP and accounting systems.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations and internal controls.
• Experience leading audit engagements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger activities, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
• Lead internal and external audits, including planning, coordination, and issue resolution.
• Maintain financial documentation and prepare audit support schedules.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Perform account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to improve financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Review accounting processes and implement improvements to strengthen controls and reduce risk.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify accounting risks and implement corrective actions.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management.
• Mentor and provide guidance to accounting staff.
