Georgia Ports Authority is seeking a Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting to maintain a robust system of accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis at Hutchinson Island. You will lead the month-end close, ensure GASB/GAAP compliance, and produce variance analyses and CAFR-related documentation.

The role requires 4–6 years of accounting experience, strong Excel and SAP skills, and familiarity with GAAP and GASB standards. The position offers an exempt status and a dynamic team environment.

Qualifikationen

• 4–6 years accounting experience required.
• Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems (SAP) preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and GASB desirable.

Aufgaben

• Coordinates month-end close schedules and maintains general ledger, including subsidiary ledgers.
• Ensures financial reporting is GAAP and GASB compliant; develops GASB 34 financial reporting.
• Produces variance analyses and Budget vs Actual reports for department and organization.
• Maintains SAP FI/CO and Project Systems; supports Sales, Plant Maintenance and Materials Management modules.
• Coordinates audit activities with external auditors and GPA accounting staff; prepares audit schedules and CAFR sections.
• Assists in preparing operating, cash and capital budgets; assists with year-end data requests.
• Assists with 1099 and 1042 reporting in compliance with IRS regulations and maintains vendor master records.
