Job summary

Boston Trust Walden National Association is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the Finance team in Boston, MA. The role covers month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, board reporting, budgeting, tax and regulatory work, and coordination with external auditors.

The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller, strengthen internal controls, support Finance systems, and cross-train within the department in a hybrid, on-site 4 days/week for the first 3 months, then 3 days/week

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
• Five to ten years of progressive accounting experience preferred in financial services or related industry.
• CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close with financial statements and reconciliations.
• Provide backup coverage for core accounting operations (AP/AR, cash, journal entries, bank recs).
• Support external audits and PBC schedules; assist Board reporting and budgeting/forecasting.
• Assist with employee stockholder program administration and internal control improvements.
