Job summary

Silicon Valley Search Group in San Mateo, CA, is looking for a Senior Accountant to join a growing finance team. You will own core accounting processes, report to the Controller, and help scale financial operations in a fast-moving environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance, CPA or strong US GAAP knowledge, 2–5 years in public accounting plus 1+ year industry experience, and comfort in cross-functional collaboration to support audits, payroll, and month-end close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or strong knowledge of US GAAP.
• 2–5 years of experience in public accounting, preferably from a Big Four or top-tier firm (e.g., BDO, Grant Thornton, Baker Tilly).
• 1+ years of industry experience, ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.
• Solid understanding of accounting processes and controls.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close activities, including reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Manage day-to-day accounting workflows across procure-to-pay and order-to-cash.
• Assist with financial audits, including preparing schedules and coordinating with external auditors.
• Support consolidations across entities.
• Process payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
• Oversee expense programs, including credit cards and reimbursements.
• Support ERP system implementation efforts, including data migration and testing.
• Coordinate with external partners on tax compliance.
